One of our favorite regular events, the Fiber Art Hive is all about playing with fluffy stuff! Whether you love wool, yarn, weaving, or felting, this gathering is for fiber enthusiasts of all skill levels.
Featured Project for this Month: Handmade Hat and Scarf Drive!
For this December’s Fiber Hive, Art Equals is holding a handmade hat and scarf drive! This chilly season, give the gift of warmth. Using natural fibers, create a knitted or crocheted hat or scarf, and donate it at our Hive! We will be donating all hats and scarves to the nonprofit Caracole in Northside. If you need natural fiber yarns, reach out to us on Instagram or stop by our studio and we will be happy to provide them! If your hats and scarves are made with acrylic yarn, simply let us know and we will donate them to Brighton Center.
All types of creative projects are welcome at each of our Art Hives! Always feel free to bring something you’re working on, or use the materials in our studio to make something new. Please let us know if there’s anything we can do to accommodate your creative journey.
More about the Art Equals Hive:
The Art Equals Hive is a free, community-powered space that values creativity and connection.
We are proud to be included as part of the international network of Art Hives, all of which serve as third spaces to foster community, inclusivity, and creativity. We welcome participants of every age, ability, and background to engage with creative play, work on your own project, explore with our studio supplies, or learn from other artists. We believe that creating together empowers us to make meaningful change in ourselves and our communities.
