Go Au Naturel! The Green Art Hive focuses on connecting with the natural world. Whether you paint landscapes, plant fairy gardens, or create with natural materials, we support your earthy explorations. We also support sustainable art practices, both using materials and making creations that are Earth-friendly.
Featured Project for this Month: Furoshiki Gift Wrapping
For this month’s Green Art Hive, join Art Equals to learn the art of Furoshiki, a traditional Japanese style of gift wrapping that utilizes cloth instead of paper. This elegant style of gift wrapping is both aesthetically pleasing and sustainable. Bring some gifts of your own to wrap, and any cloths you would like to include, or you can use fabric from the studio! Get creative with fabric patterns and textures, incorporate ribbon or fabric paint, or anything else you can think of.
All types of creative projects are welcome at each of our Art Hives! Always feel free to bring something you’re working on, or use the materials in our studio to make something new. Please let us know if there’s anything we can do to accommodate your creative journey.
More about the Art Equals Hive:
The Art Equals Hive is a free, community-powered space that values creativity and connection.
We are proud to be included as part of the international network of Art Hives, all of which serve as third spaces to foster community, inclusivity, and creativity. We welcome participants of every age, ability, and background to engage with creative play, work on your own project, explore with our studio supplies, or learn from other artists. We believe that creating together empowers us to make meaningful change in ourselves and our communities.
