CINCINNATI, OHIO – January 30, 2023 – Art Equals, a non-profit organization that empowers everyone to be an artist by providing community-driven accessible opportunities for creative growth and healing, is bringing the local community together to “show their hearts”. The Art Equals’ Heartfelt Tea Party and Auction is a fundraising event for the non-profit organization where Art Equals will auction off hearts made from individuals within the community. The hearts being auctioned off will vary widely from the size of each heart to the materials used to make the heart and the overall decoration based on the creativity and imagination of the maker. There are a variety of individuals and local organizations throughout the Greater Cincinnati Community involved in making the hearts, but anyone is encouraged to create a heart and participate.
Charlotte Reed, Founder & Chief Executive of Art Equals, has been championing the charitable heart making efforts throughout the community in preparation for the heart auction, helping individuals and organizations create a unique heart that embodies their imagination. Charlotte intentionally tied the Party into the Valentine’s Day theme not only because it’s her favorite holiday, but also because Valentine’s Day always seemed to brighten up those dreary winter days and was an indication that spring was just around the corner. For Charlotte, the idea that making hearts was all about sharing a bit of yourself with others, which is exactly what Art Equals tries to do - connect people through creativity. “The Heartfelt Tea Party & Auction is an opportunity to recognize how art and creativity can be a path for creative growth and healing.” commented Charlotte. “For someone who uses creativity as a way to fight the winter doldrums myself, I love the idea of giving people a reason to get their creative juices flowing at a time that can feel dreary for some.”.
The Heartfelt Tea Party & Auction is being held on Sunday, February 26, 2023, from 1:00pm-4:00pm at the Hellman Creative Center in Covington, KY. The party is a casual event and open to everyone. The party will include afternoon tea sponsored by Wendigo Tea Co., punch, and light bites including tea sandwiches and scones as well the heart auction itself. The proceeds from the fundraising event will be used to help support Art Equals and in particular the Art Equals Art Packets. The Art Packets are specially designed to provide a self-contained creative experience and come with supplies and an inspirational information sheet to help get the creator started.
